Opened in 2022, the UL Solutions Querétaro laboratory is one of the first multinational testing and certification facilities to operate in Mexico. It provides safety and performance testing to support access to key global markets, including the U.S., Canada and several Latin American countries, such as Brazil, Colombia, El Salvador, Panama and Peru.

Industries and services

The UL Solutions Querétaro laboratory provides core testing and certification services for a range of industries, including appliance, automotive, electronics, engineered materials and plastics, lighting, refrigeration, technology, telecommunications, wireless, and wire and cable.

For automotive industry customers, a dedicated team and custom equipment are available for testing automotive materials, including parts such as cable harnesses against USCAR standards and interior plastics, as well as environmental, mechanical and durability testing services.

UL de México is approved by the General Directorate of Standards (DGN) as a laboratory that can perform safety testing on different types of electrical and electronic products. The National Commission for the Efficient Use of Energy (CONUEE) also approved our Querétaro laboratory for energy efficiency testing for LED lamps and luminaires for outdoor use under the applicable Mexican standards.

Additionally, UL Solutions is recognized by the Entidad Mexicana de Acreditación (EMA) and authorized by the Instituto Federal de Telecomunicaciones (IFT) to perform specific absorption rate (SAR) testing in accordance with IFT 012-2019.

The facility offers local testing to a wide range of standards, including the UL Mark, Norma Oficial Mexicana (NOM), Normas Mexicanas (NMX), and IFT - ATDT requirements. These services support certifications and approvals for the U.S., Canada, Mexico and other Latin American markets. UL de México, S.A. de C.V. is an ISO/IEC 17065-accredited product certification body for NOM and NMX standards.
