UL-MX MARK

UL-MX MARK

The UL-MX Mark is a safety Mark registered and provided by UL de Mexico, S.A de C.V. It is used for products that have been evaluated and certified under voluntary Mexican standards (NMX). Used in conjunction with the official NOM countersign, it is considered an official mark of Mexico. UL-MX NOM Marks are only granted when a product complies with applicable and mandatory requirements of the official Mexican standards (Normas Oficiales Mexicanas or NOM), the scheme/modality under which it has been evaluated, and current Mexican legislation related to conformity assessment. In any case, the validity of the associated certificate of compliance will depend on the certification scheme applicable at the product’s category, e.g., new, used, rebuilt, out of specifications, etc. 

Energy Efficiency Certification 

• NOM-005-ENER-2016, Energy efficiency of washing machines. Limits, testing methods and labeling.
• NOM-014-ENER-2004, Energy efficiency of electric motors, alternating current, single-phase, induction, squirrel-cage type, air-cooled, in nominal power from 0.180 kW to 1500 kW. Limits, test method and marking
• NOM-015-ENER-2012, Energy efficiency of refrigerators and freezers. Limits, testing methods and labeling
• NOM-017-ENER / SCFI-2012, Energy efficiency and safety requirements for compact fluorescent lamps with integrated ballast. Test limits and methods

• CSA-NOM service agreement
• Simplified copy of the company's articles of association
• For foreign companies, copy of the articles of incorporation translated into Spanish (only NOM-001-SCFI-2018 and NOM-003-SCFI-2014
• Copy of ID (valid only for NOM-029-ENER-2017 and NOM-032-ENER-2013)
• Copy of the Power of Attorney of the legal representative (legal entities), if not included in the Bylaws.
• Copy of the registration of the Tax ID issued by the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP). (Only for NOM-032-ENER-2013 and NOM-029-ENER-2017)
• Power of Attorney for Processors (when applicable, signed by the legal representative)
• Proof of Tax Status (RFC) (For companies outside of Mexico: Tax ID or document showing the Company is registered with the local tax authorities)

Technical documentation

• Request for certification services signed by the legal representative of the company or authorized person.
• Test report issued by an accredited laboratory approved and outsourced company by UL de México, S.A. de C.V. Instructions and/or operating manual.
• Photographs of all models.
• Diagrams of all models (where applicable)
• Technical specification sheet
• Labels with the energy efficiency marking
• Copy of the certificate of the quality system or procedures related to the production line. (Homogeneity of production).
• Warranty (only for NOM-014-ENER-2004 and NOM-015-ENER-2012)

• ULM Verification Unit Contract.
• Simplified copy of the articles of incorporation of the company.
• Copy of the Power of Attorney of the legal representative (legal entities) in case they are not included in the Articles of Incorporation. Individuals: Registration and identification of the RFC.

• Request for verification services of commercial information properly completed signed by the legal representative of the company or authorized person.
• Label of each model to be evaluated (added or printed on the packaging, or printed on the product)
• Operating and / or manual instructions
• Warranty
